1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how ScrapCut handles information when you use the ScrapCut iOS app and this website. ScrapCut is designed to keep core project, inventory and cut-planning data on your device, while some features use third-party services to provide sign-in, ads, purchase verification, security and AI-assisted explanations.
2. Information you provide
- Account information: if you choose to sign in, an authentication provider may provide an account identifier and, depending on your choice and provider settings, an email address or name.
- Project and material information: dimensions, scrap inventory, cut lists, project names and generated plans that you enter or create in the app.
- Support messages: if you email us, we receive the email address and information you include in your message.
3. Information processed automatically
Some technical information may be processed by Apple or our service providers when required to operate the app. This can include device/app information, security tokens, purchase status, advertising-related information, IP address, diagnostics, and interactions with ads.
4. AI Cut Assistant
When you use the AI Cut Assistant, ScrapCut first verifies the cut geometry using the app's optimizer. Information needed to explain the plan — such as selected material dimensions, required cuts and verified plan details — may then be sent through our Cloudflare Worker to OpenAI's API so an explanation or practical tips can be generated.
Please do not enter personal or sensitive information into material names, project names or AI requests. ScrapCut's AI feature is intended for cut-planning data, not personal information.
5. Advertising
The free version of ScrapCut may display advertising through Google AdMob, including rewarded ads used to unlock certain AI generations. Google may process device and advertising information according to its own privacy practices and your device privacy settings.
6. Purchases
ScrapCut Premium is purchased through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes payment information. ScrapCut receives purchase/entitlement information needed to unlock Premium; we do not receive your full payment-card details.
7. Security and app integrity
ScrapCut uses Firebase services, including App Check, to help protect backend requests and reduce abuse. Security-related identifiers or tokens may be processed for this purpose.
8. Third-party services
Depending on the features you use, ScrapCut may rely on:
- Apple — App Store, StoreKit and Sign in with Apple where enabled.
- Google — Firebase, Google sign-in where enabled, and Google AdMob.
- Cloudflare — secure proxy infrastructure for AI requests.
- OpenAI — API processing for AI-generated explanations and tips.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Data retention
Local project and inventory data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or remove the app and its local data. Account-related or service-provider records may be retained only as needed to operate the service, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Support emails are retained as needed to answer and document the request.
10. Your choices and rights
You can choose to use supported features without creating an account where the app offers that option. You can manage ad/privacy permissions through iOS settings. Where applicable, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of personal data.

11. Children's privacy
ScrapCut is a material-planning utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information through the app.
12. Website privacy
This static ScrapCut website does not intentionally use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. It may still receive ordinary hosting/server request information from the hosting provider when a page is loaded.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when ScrapCut's features or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
